Job purpose

The holder will support the Senior Human Resource Officer in implementing/realizing the Key Results Areas below.

Key Result Areas

  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
  • Prepare staff payroll order forms to effect changes on payroll e.g. transfers, change in salary, changes in bank accounts, deletions, promotions etc.
  • Provide support in developing job descriptions, keeping them updated with evolving requirements, and posting job requisitions.
  • Handle employee inquiries and concerns regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, and other related matters, providing timely and effective resolution·
  • Assist with employee relations activities, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures, while promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Maintain employee records (attendance, leave data, staff lists etc.) according to policy and legal requirements
  • Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance.
  • Support HR Manager in special projects, initiatives, and HR-related administrative tasks as needed.

Person specifications, Education and Competencies required for the Job

  • University Degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Business Administration (Management) or related fields.
  • Should have at least 3 years’ working experience in human resource.
  • Must demonstrate significant knowledge and experience handling activities of the Human Resource function.
  • Working knowledge of and experience in local labour and employment laws and legal resources.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret numerical data and processes
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of discretion and confidentiality of HR information.
  • Experience using Human Resource Management System will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • A person who is highly motivated and innovative.
  • Membership to the Human Resource Managers Association of Uganda is an added advantage
