JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose: The Civil Specialist is responsible for supervising the day-to-day construction activities of EACOP & CONTRACTORs in line with international Oil and Gas standards for Civil works in Hydrocarbon environments. They will ensure work is carried out using safe working practices and is completed in accordance with the project codes, standards, drawings, and specifications.

The Civil Specialist reports the to the Construction Supervisor (Civil).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Directly supporting EACOP & the CONTRACTORs ensuring delivery of the pipeline and associated AGI, MST facilities and EITS infrastructure are on-time and to budget.
• Work as directed by the QC Supervisor Civil Superintendent within the allocated construction work packages issued.
• Implement, use, and communicate safe work practices on and off the project sites.
• Supervision and Inspection of Civil works regularly, identifying and eliminating potential safety hazards.
• Ensuring Company Contractors understand work scope pertaining to Civil works.
• Support Construction Supervisor throughout the field and during meeting attendance, including monitoring and reporting on compliance of works, scheduling, contractor performance, materials, and vendors.
• Conduct regular field inspections of the works in progress to ensure conformance to AFC design drawings.
• Accept guidance and on the job training from supervisory and engineering personnel on day-to-day work scope execution.
• Ensure specialist requirements for Hydrocarbon related Civil works are adhered to and implemented.
• Supervision and checks of field survey pegging for excavations, cut, fill and foundation locations.
• Supervision of ITP inspection surveillance and hold points by the designated inspection personnel.
• Supervise pre-pour inspection and approve release to pour.
• Review and confirm survey benchmark controls for sites, road networks and pipeline ROW corridors.
• Monitor civil interfaces for civil earth work scopes, identifying conflicts to supervision.
• Work within a multi-cultural business framework and provide ethical and compliant support.
• Mentor exemplary behavior regarding HSE, Ethics and Company "Code of Conduct" policy.

Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant qualification combined with extensive field experience or other Company agreed applicable discipline qualifications that support the execution of civil works for the onshore Pipeline and related AGI, MST facilities and EITS infrastructure works scopes.
• A minimum of 5 years greenfield site civil construction experience in Oil & Gas or Hydrocarbon projects
